Daylily Show 2017

SADS Shows Its Daylilies at the 2017 Festival of Flowers

San Antonio Daylily Society members once again will be at the San Antonio Festival of Flowers on May 27 to show some of their blooms, sell daylilies and talk to visitors about their favorite flower.

The Festival of Flowers is a great event for all San Antonio area gardeners to enjoy. This year’s festival marks the 20th anniversary. SADS members have been at the festival with daylilies for the past several years.

The Festival of Flowers will be at the Alzafar Shrine Auditorium on May 27 from 9 am - 5 pm. The auditorium is located at 901 N. Loop 1604 West. Cost of admission to the festival is $6 for adults (payable at the door). Parking is free. If you love plants and gardening, you will love the festival!

Daylily club members will show daylilies as you’ve probably never seen them before, in all colors, sizes and shapes. From mini daylilies to extra large to double, spider and unusual form daylilies. Learn about daylilies and how to grow them from members who show them. The SADS daylily show will be in a room adjacent to the main sales area. As in previous years, visitors can vote on their favorite blooms in the various categories.

Also on display will be photography entered in the daylily photo contest. The photographs give visitors an opportunity to see daylilies that are not blooming and on display on that day. Again vote for what you consider as the best photographs.

And most importantly the club gives visitors an opportunity to buy daylilies. Daylily double fan plants will be on sale in the sales area at the Festival of Flowers.
